Vote!

The best way we all should participate in our democracy is to get out and vote in every election. Some days it may not be easy. Sometimes you don’t know who to vote for or why. We want to help you get the information you need to participate fully and make sure that your voice is heard.

You must register to vote before voting for the first time or for the first time after moving to a new address. It’s a simple process. Learn more about registering to vote here. The last day to register for the 2012 Primary Election is March 26, 2012.

Vote by Absentee Ballot

If you are unable to vote at your polling place on Election Day you may still be able to vote by absentee ballot. Learn more about voting by absentee ballot here. The last day to submit your application for an absentee ballot for the 2012 Primary Election is April 17, 2012, but we urge you to file a month before the April primary—by late March—to protect your rights.

Find Your Polling Place

These maps can help you find your polling place. Click on the “Ward 1 & 2” or “Ward 3 & 4” polling place maps to see where to vote. The colored areas help show each voting precinct to help you find the appropriate polling place.

If you need to check on your polling place location or simply want to verify your voter registration information visit the Voter Services web site.

How Our Voting Machines Work

Montgomery County uses Sequoia electronic voting machines. You vote by pressing the name of the candidates you support. You can find detailed voting instructions and a demonstration video here.
