Women's March Philadelphia will take place on January 20, 2018, starting at 10:30 am, on Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
A number of members of Horsham Democratic Committee are attending this important, global, event.
We thought it would be fun to try to coordinate attendance as a group, so we are posting this event to gauge interest in doing so. The tentative plan is to gather at the Ambler train station and as a group take the 9:01am train into the city.
If you are interested in joining our group going to the Women's March Philadelphia on the 9:01 train from Ambler station on January 20th, please RSVP below. As always, please share, and tell your friends as well. We look forward too seeing you there!
In January, Women’s March Philadelphia will demonstrate once again the solidarity of Philadelphians with women around the world in opposing policies and practices which are discriminatory, divisive and non-inclusive, be they in the boardroom, the media, the political arena, or in everyday life.
To succeed in this promise it will take more than a march, it will take sustained effort. On January 23rd, Organizing Night for Women and Allies, sponsored by the Horsham Democratic Committee (HDC), offers an opportunity for women and allies to learn how to take the next step, in the political arena, toward making good on the promise of action made by the Women’s March.
Join local women from Horsham who are now engaged in the political arena, as they discuss the challenges they face and the triumphs they have achieved:
- Jennifer Wilson, recently elected to the Hatboro - Horsham School Board
- Veronica Hill-Milbourne, recently elected to Horsham Town Council
- Julie Kollar, Executive Director, Montgomery County Democratic Committee (MCDC)
- Maria Collett, Candidate, Pennsylvania Senate 12th District
- Sara Rothman Johnson, Candidiate, Pennsylvania House 151st District
- Molly Sheehan, Candidate, U.S. Congress, 7th District
- Valerie Arkoosh, Chair, Montgomery County Board of Commissioners
Learn how to effectively support these committed and active women and meet Horsham organizers who can help you get involved:
- Lisa Cellini, organizer, HDC Phone Bank Team
- Michele Pasquarello, organizer, HDC Canvassing Team
- Peggy Leiby, Treasurer, HDC and Acting Event Coordinator
- Julie Kollar, Executive Director, MCDC, Potential Candidates
Please join us on Tuesday, January 23rd, at 7PM, for a night of sharing and organizing. Be certain to share, and tell your friends about this important event. RSVP's are required for this event as seating is limited.
We look forward to seeing you there!
