Water on the Agenda at our Committee Meeting on Tuesday September 25 at 7PM

The September meeting of the Horsham Democratic Committee will be held at the Yuong Sang Presbyterian Church on Witmer Road beginning at 7PM.

Our keynote speaker this month is Kyle Bagenstose, an environmental reporter on The Intelligencer's investigative team. He also writes for the Bucks County Courier Times and covers environmental issues in Bucks and eastern Montgomery Counties. For the past two years he has extensively covered major drinking water contamination along the BuxMont border stemming from the use of firefighting foams at area military bases. He also regularly writes on pollution, development, industry, wildlife, and environmental policy issues. He has won 10 journalism awards in the past two years, including a national award for in-depth reporting from the Society of Environmental Journalists.

#BelieveSurvivors

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford has bravely come forward and shared her story about her sexual assault at the hands of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Even though Dr. Blasey Ford has repeatedly stated her desire to testify and bravely share her story, Senate Republicans are doing everything they can to shame, bully, and force her to testify under their unacceptable, inappropriate conditions.

At 1 p.m. EST Monday, join us for a national walk-out to show our support for Dr. Blasey Ford. All you need to do is wear black and walk out - of your home, your office, your classroom, wherever you are - and post a picture to your social media with the hashtag #BelieveSurvivors

If you can’t walk out, you can show your support by posting a video or a picture to this event. Help spread the word: we believe Dr. Blasey Ford. We believe survivors.

Donate to the Horsham Democratic Committee

Donations are welcome via our website at https://horshamdems.nationbuilder.com/donate. Money donated now will be used to help elect Democratic Candidates in the elections this fall, and in the Township and School Board elections in 2019.

Poll Greeters Needed

On Election Day when people go their polls to vote, they may need help or have questions about where to go or who the Democratic candidates are they should vote for. To help these voters the Horsham Democratic Committee organizes Poll Greeters who welcome voters at the polling locations and make sure any questions they have are answered.

This is where you come in: we need people to perform this important task. A polling shift can be as short as one hour, and any amount of time spent on this activity is an investment in our democracy. This is a kid-friendly activity, and young people are encouraged to participate in this role.

If you have an hour or more on Election day, and care enough about the outcome of the election to help people at the polls, please call Caryn Leifer at (609) 519-8255.

The next Township Council Meeting is September 24th.

All Township meetings are currently being held at the Library on Babylon Road. Check our Facebook Events page for times.

Autumn weather in our region can transition quickly from summer sun to winter frost. Every year at this time, we see a surge in KidPack requests for local children in need. As we head into our Gear Up for Winter campaign, we need to re-stock the warehouse with children’s essentials to carry us through the coming months. You can help.

PECO® has partnered with Cradles to Crayons to sponsor the BIG GIVE, a multi-county collection day that benefits low income and homeless children across the Greater Philadelphia region. In our Giving Factory warehouse, we’ll process these collected items with our “Quality=Dignity” motto in mind, then hand-select items to create and distribute packages for specific kids.

For you, it’s extra stuff. For a child in need, it’s essential. Please donate on September 29
