November 2nd Election Results @ November 9th
The results of last Tuesday's election are almost finalized. We are very happy that Jen Wilson and Erin Stroup have won two of the five School Board positions that were up in this election. Our third Democratic candidate in that race, Shawn Fagan, came within seventy votes but it does not look like there are enough votes left to be counted to make up that difference. So we have increased our Democratic majority by one. We would also like to thank Amanda Jacobus, a candidate who we endorsed, for running in this election. Congratulations to all of our candidates on running a very strong campaign.
The Horsham Township Council race was also close. Our candidates lost but the margin of victory for the third open spot on Council was about 172 votes out of 6,720 votes cast. Republicans will now have all five positions on Council. We applaud Veronica Hill-Milbourne, Chip Horner and Bill Gallagher for coming so close in an off year election that had a high voter turn out.
"Down ballot", we had four Dems running for Judge of Election in their precincts--Diane Rigotti, John Shepherd, Eric Enger and Ret Turner-- they all won. Betty Shepherd and Elaine Gargel also won their races for Inspector of Elections. Congratulations!
The time and sacrifices made by each of our candidates and their families can not be over stated. There are also many people who have worked very hard to support our candidates and deserve so much credit and thanks.
