Come to our Committee Meeting on Tuesday at 7PM 

Richard Buttacavoli, Vice-Chair, Montgomery County LGBT Business Council, will speak at our August 21st Meeting


The Mission of the Montgomery County LGBT Business Council is to create networking, social and business opportunities for LGBT business professionals and allies in Montgomery County. Their vision is to provide support to the Montgomery County business community through education, training, professional development, policy advocacy and adaptation to ensure that workplace environments are welcoming and inclusive regardless of sexual orientations and gender identities.

Richard will discuss LGBT Issues and Initiatives in Montgomery County. All are invited to attend. The meeting will be held at the Yuong Sang Presbyterian Church on Witmer Road beginning at 7PM.

Young Voter Initiative

Montgomery County Democratic Committee has started a young voter registration initiative. Any high school student who would like to lead this charge in their high school, or any adults interested in volunteering, please click this link and complete the presented form.

  • Official Campaign Office Opening: Monday, August 20, at 7PM. Join the Pennsylvania Democratic Coordinated Campaign with Maria Collett for State Senate 12, Sara Johnson Rothman for State House 151 & Liz Hanbidge for State House 61, as we open our 2018 campaign office! Friends and family are encouraged to join!   • Wednesday Evenings of ActionMaria, Sara, Liz and the PA Dems are hosting mid-week canvassing and phone banking every Wednesday from 4pm-9pm 
  • Friday Afternoon 'Candidates Choice': Fridays between noon-5 is "Candidates' Choice" at campaign headquarters. This can be things like post carding, organizing lit for canvassing, phoning, etc. 
  • Saturday and Sunday Door to Door Canvassing: The plan is to canvass every weekend, alternating between Horsham and Montgomery townships, which together make up over 80% of Sara's district.  Maria's canvassing will be broader to cover the rest of her district. Start times are 9:30 AM and 1 PM. Nothing is more effective than going door to door if you want to make a difference.

Community Events

  • You have now have more time to register for our next Cabinet in Your Community Event in the Southeast region. Our new date is  August 22nd at Montgomery County Community College


    This event will bring members of the Governor’s Cabinet to speak with the public at a townhall like format. The event is FREE and open to the public.  If you are interested in participating, please reply to [email protected] to request a registration form. 

  • The Hatboro Rotary Club will be holding their annual Lobster Pot Fundraiser on Saturday September 8, 2018 at College Settlement, 600 Witmer Road, Horsham between 4:00 and 10:00 PM, dinner 5:00-7:00 PM. Tickets are $40.00 each which includes either a Filet Mignon or 1/2lb lobster, corn, roll and salad. Children are welcome for a free hot dog dinner. This is a BYOB affair, mixers will be available. There will also be a DJ. This event is rain or shine. For tickets contact

Philadelphia Ganesh Festival at Bharatiya Temple in Chalfont is one of the largest Ganesh Festivals in North America. Many members of the Horsham community attend, and all are invited. Events run from September 12 - September 23rd.   • There is a very important meeting scheduled for Sept. 20th at the Fort Washington Fire House in Upper Dublin.  It is the beginning stage of a possible Welsh Road Turnpike Interchange on Welsh Road in front of Prudential Insurance, with completion in 12-15 years. Open House format, all are encouraged to attend.

Schedule for Horsham Democratic Committee Meetings

Horsham Democratic Committee meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of every month until the General Election: August 21, EXCEPTION: Tuesday, Sept 25 (to avoid conflicting with Yom Kippur on our regular 3rd Tuesday date, the 18th), and October 16. All Meetings will be held at the Yuong Sang Presbyterian  Church on Witmer Road beginning at 7PM.

September 25th Meeting:

Kyle Bagenstose is an environmental reporter on The Intelligencer's investigative team. He also writes for the Bucks County Courier Times and covers environmental issues in Bucks and eastern Montgomery Counties. For the past two years he has extensively covered major drinking water contamination along the BuxMont border stemming from the use of firefighting foams at area military bases. He also regularly writes on pollution, development, industry, wildlife, and environmental policy issues. He has won 10 journalism awards in the past two years, including a national award for in-depth reporting from the Society of Environmental Journalists.

Schedule for HDC Executive Committee Meetings

The executive committee will be meeting through the summer every Sunday am at 8am, at Peggy Leiby's barn, which is located at 524 Cedar Hill Road. Executive Committee meetings are where we plan events, coordinate activities, and set the direction for the committee. We never have enough people to do all that needs to be done, so all are welcome to attend.
