Natasha Bagchi Announces Run for Horsham Council

Event held by Horsham Democratic Committee showcases strength of support for Democratic Candidates in upcoming municipal elections

Natasha Bagchi announced her 2019 run for Horsham Council at the Ukrainian American Sport Center on Thursday night. A global pharmaceutical marketing executive with twenty years’ experience, Natasha Bagchi has worked with the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and many others, managing multi-million dollar global marketing and product introduction programs. Natasha and her husband Indranil have been Horsham residents for fifteen years and have two children.

The announcement was made at a ‘Candidate Reveal’ event where a slate of local council and school board candidates was unveiled. The event was attended by Democratic Party leaders from Horsham and Montgomery County, as well as numerous elected officials at the state and local level.

Natasha Bagchi's signature issue is to make Horsham a more attractive place for residents and businesses. Her local political and advocacy experience includes leading the executive board of the Horsham Chase Residents Association, where she assisted residents in protecting wetlands. She has been strongly advocating for the environment, using the United Nations Association and Friends International as a platform.

Montgomery County Chair Valerie Arkoosh spoke at the launch event and said, “Horsham is fortunate to have a strong business-oriented candidate like Natasha Bagchi. Her significant global business experience is unique among the candidates for Horsham Council.”

Current Horsham Council member Veronica Hill-Milbourne introduced Natasha to the crowded room, which included more than a hundred Horsham residents and supporters from both parties. “Horsham residents wish to see Horsham Council pursue initiatives which increase the size and diversity of our business and township community, while responsibly managing the resources provided by taxpayers to the council to do so. Natasha Bagchi is a seasoned business executive who will bring new skills and energy to the Council in pursuing these objectives.”

State Senator Maria Collett (D-District 12) was pleased to welcome Bagchi to the Democratic slate. “Natasha Bagchi is part of the next wave of capable, forward-thinking candidates stepping up and speaking out for positive change,” says Collett. “I am confident she has what it takes to tackle the issues that matter to us and I look forward to working with her to make a difference here in Horsham.”
